Tuesday Poem - I cough

The thing about having a cough
Is it makes you feel rather rough
Especially when it keeps you awake all night
And you end up giving the neighbours a fright
As you bark and you wheeze and you hack
Coughing lungs all the way up and then back
Everyone wakes with puffy eyes and yawns
And your throat feels like you swallowed thorns
No matter how hard you try to stifle the noise
You'll find yourself losing all of your poise
As you can't stop for breath, face turning red
No wonder you look like the walking dead
