I'm not one for blowing my trumpet
I'm really rather very shy
But I've decided not to avoid it
And let me tell you why
Since deciding to become a writer
I've published a book or two
Now my future's looking a little brighter
From an achieving goals point of view
I think it, I write it, I edit
Next thing I know it's a book
But before I take any more credit
Why don't you go take a look
This is my roundabout way of letting you know that I'm super proud of myself for continuing on my writing journey and that I've just released two new books of poetry.
Poetry? Yes, poems. Possibly not what you were expecting from me but then again, why not? Poetry makes words dance, they're emotional and personal and no, they don't have to rhyme. In some ways, I think publishing poetry is much scarier than publishing a novel because they are so individual and unique to the person who wrote them.
Like any piece of art, there will be some people who enjoy them and some people who dislike them intently. That's life but I would be very interested to know what you think about my poetry books.
Little Book of Verse Volume 1 is the first in a new collection of poems. It features some old, some new and the rediscovery of my enjoyment in writing poetry.
Spring Fling is the result of taking part in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) in April 2018, where I wrote a poem a day for the whole month.
Both books are available on Amazon and as always, if you do read one of my books - please consider leaving a review. They really do mean the world.
